The Story Behind Familia Solutions
Familia Solutions was founded in 2020 by two Latina immigrant women who recognized a growing gap between the needs of Latinx families and the resources available to support them. Many programs and services designed to help communities often lacked cultural relevance, leaving families without guidance that truly reflected their experiences, traditions, and values.
Led by Javiera Monardez, Familia Solutions brings together expertise in medicine, public health, community health promotion, adolescent development, positive parenting, nutrition, and sexual health education. Her leadership and commitment to culturally grounded care serve as the foundation of Familia’s mission.
Addressing Community Inequities
Familia Solutions was born out of a clear and urgent need. Across many communities, Latinx families and immigrant populations face systemic inequities that limit access to culturally appropriate resources, education, and support systems.
The founders witnessed how traditional programs often overlooked the lived experiences, cultural values, and social realities of these communities. Families were frequently offered generic solutions that failed to recognize their identities, strengths, and unique challenges.
What families needed was guidance rooted in understanding—programs that respected culture, acknowledged community realities, and provided tools that were both meaningful and practical.
Familia Solutions exists to fill this gap by delivering culturally responsive programs that honor community voice, empower families, and create opportunities for long-term well-being.

In 2020, under the leadership of Javiera Monardez, Familia Solutions began transforming this vision into action.
